HUBER+SUHNER developed the RADOX® Anti-capillary cable family for the automotive market.

Inside the cable conductor, a grease-like filling material prevents the capillary effect in the core.
This stops liquids in the vehicle, such as oil, water or AdBlue, being conveyed through the cable and damaging the electronics and sensors at the other end.

The anti-capillary cable can be joined to a connector or other contact areas using conventional crimp, soldering or ultrasonic welding processes.

Since a liquid-blocking barrier is provided inside the cable itself, expensive and complicated sealed connectors or bushings can be replaced.
